
Dr Luettich informs the public on the potential dangers of storm surges and Hurricane Harvey
Date: August 31, 2017Multiple sources interviewed Dr Rick Luettich, the director of the UNC Institute of Marine Sciences, on the potential dangers of Hurricane Harvey focusing largely on storm surges. Utilizing Dr. Luettich’s computer program ADCIRC, he was able to predict the potential effects of the storm surge and flooding that is predicted to occur with a multi-day rain event such as Hurricane Harvey.
